Finally!

Well for those of you who don't know, Neal has been wanting to buy an aluminum fishing boat for going on a year now. He has spent many many many hours sitting in front of the computer looking at Craigslist trying to find the "perfect" boat for the right price. Then my dad starting getting a little interested and decided he wanted in on this too. So they upped their price range a little bit and continued their search. Finally on the day before Shawn & Sequoya's wedding he found the perfect boat in College Station. So like a kid in a candy store, he took off to College Station to pick up their new toy. I must say I haven't seen him so proud since the day Ella was born (and of course the day he married me!)

We took the boat out for our first ride the Sunday after the wedding and she runs beautifully! The guys were so excited! After they took it out and were done inspecting EVERYTHING about it, they came and picked me and Ella up for a short ride. She didn't seem to care too much for the life jacket and I don't blame her, it was hotter than heck so she must have been terribly uncomfortable. She had more fun after we striped her down to her diaper and let her splash around at the boat dock! So I have posted a few pics of the proud new parents and of Ella in her cute tiny little life jacket.



And I told Neal if he spends as much time on the boat as he did trying to buy one I was going to sink it!

Weekend Review...Kind of Late!

Well, the wedding has finally come and gone & it was a beautiful day! Sequoya looked beautiful & wore an absolutely gorgeous dress & Shawn looked handsome as well. Let me tell you how the day played out with Ella. I thought I had everything all planned out perfectly so that Ella would have had lunch & a nap at just the right time so that she would be in a good mood for her big debut. Ha Ha! It completely back fired on me! I took her to my mom's house that morning while I was getting my hair done and all that other "fluffy wedding stuff." I asked my Mom to bath her and feed her an early lunch, but not to let her go to sleep before I got there to pick her up. I thought she would go to sleep on the way to the church around noon, and sleep until close to 2 p.m. when the wedding started. Well, she did fall asleep on the way, but she woke up right when we got into the church. She was fine until the rather heavy photographer stepped on her tiny little fingers. After that it was all over with. She was so sleepy so I tried for an hour to get her to take at least a little cat nap before mass started but she wasn't having it. Anyways, she rode in the little wagon down the aisle and looked adorable and she behaved while we were sitting in the pew for a good while. Then came the part where they exchanged vows...that's when Ella decided to let everyone know she was there & was not happy about it. I'm talking throw her back out, head back, screaming fit! So she ended up in the cry room for a while needless to say, but all in all I think she did a wonderful job. I have a short little video of her riding in the wagon. We had a wonderful time at the wedding and we felt so honored to be a part of Shawn & Sequoya's day, but let me tell you, I am glad it is over. Now I can stop stressing about what I eat and worrying about getting that darn dress zipped! So congratulations Shawn & Sequoya...we love you!

I'm not sure if it was something that happened at the wedding or what but Ella has decided that she should get up at least twice a night for about 2 hours at a time and play. Neal thinks she is possessed and quite frankly I'm starting to agree with him! She has learned to stand up in her crib now and she just thinks it is so much fun. So every night since the wedding she has been getting up for several hours of the night. She wakes up, stands up and screams bloody murder until she hears us getting out of bed - as soon as she ears us moving around, she stops. So when we open her door she is standing there with a smile as big as Texas waving bye bye at us. It is so stinkin' cute but sooo dang annoying when it's at 2 a.m. We have been trying to make her cry it out and go back to sleep on her own but that's not going so well. She had her 9 mo. check-up today so I wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong with her like an ear infection or something I was missing, but after that it's on baby! She will definitely be crying herself to sleep next week.

Like I said, she had her check-up today and everything looks perfect. She weighed in at 16.7 lbs. which puts her in the 12th percentile for weight and is 27.5 in. long & in the 40th percentile for length. Dr. Blackwell assured me that there is no need to worry about her crooked toes, he said they should straighten out with time. I think they're kind of cute anyways!

Busy Weekend Ahead...

Well, I have officially joined into the world of blogging, and I must say I feel completely lost! Bare with me as I learn what the heck I am doing.

I thought this would be a good time to start since we have such a big weekend coming up and I would have something to talk about. If you haven't heard by now, my brother-in-law, Shawn is getting married this weekend. Neal, myself & Ella are all participating in the wedding so there will be a lot going on for us. Neal is a groomsman, I will stand as a bridesmaid, and Ella will be pulled down the isle in a little wagon. I know....How cute! I can't wait to see how she will do. And her dress is so adorable....it's white (of course) with a little bit of tulle sticking out the bottom and has a white ribbon that ties in the back. Her Nannie had to cut off the pink ribbon that came on the dress and sew the white one on. I have posted a picture of the dress before the "alterations." She also has a little bitty white bow that we are going to attempt to put in what little hair she has. I will definitely be posting pictures from the wedding and letting you all know how it goes.

On another note, my grandma (Meme) is also moving to La Grange this weekend. She has been living in Columbus for, well as long as I have known her. Now that she has all these great grand babies she wants to be a little closer to everyone so she can get as much lovin' as she wants, whenever she wants. She will be moving into a nice little brick house right across from the high school. We are so excited to have her here!

Now more about Ella....the little stinker seemed to be "developing" a little slower than all the rest of her baby friends. But all of a sudden she has just taken off! Just within this week she has 2 teeth coming in, has started waving bye bye at everyone and everything, and is now pulling up on everything. We got no warning what so ever, she just started all this overnight...literally! We are so excited that she is doing all this, but it has made me realize that she is growing up way too fast!
